And a fucking rookie shall lead them!

October 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

David fucking Price! I have never seen anything like that before. We all know the Rays bullpen is absolute garbage, they don’t have anything that even slightly resembles a closer and then out of fucking no where in steps David Price to save the game and lead the Rays to a game seven victory. I have no doubt that without Price the Rays pen would have found a way to give away this game. If Joe Maddon has any intelligence what so ever he’ll immediately declare Price as the closer for the World Series, because lord knows Dan Wheeler, Grant Ball-four, J.P Howell, can’t close a game to save their collective life. With Price as the end game hammer, I would say that the Rays can beat the Phillies and win the world series.

The greatest choke ever

October 16, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Dan Wheeler is garbage. He has always been garbage. He was garbage with the Mets, he was garbage with the Astros and he is garbage with the Rays. At best he is nothing more than a serviceable set up man. But when used as a closer or in a critical situation he is a disaster on wheels. The instigator of tonight’s atrocity Grant Balfour is the definition of a journeyman. Nothing more nothing less. For every great performance he has, he’ll have an equally putrid performance to match it. The biggest travesty about this epic choke was Joe “deer in the headlights” Maddon leaving that piece of crap Wheeler in to blow the game.

Will the Rays still find a way to win the series? Perhaps. But what happened tonight will have repercussions and ultimately will probably cost the Rays a world series tittle. The Rays crap bullpen has been exposed for what it really is. God help them if they get in another tight late inning game again.

The Braves screw up, again…

July 30, 2008 · 3 Comments

Is this the kind of baseball I have to look forward to when I move to Atlanta? Yesterday the Braves gave away super slugger Mark Teixeira for the mediocre and unimpressive Casey Kotchman. Someone needs to explain to Braves GM Frank Wren that you don’t give away a young hometown hero who is second only to Ryan Howard in HR and RBI’s since last year. Yes I know Teixeira is a free agent at the end of the season, and will demand A-rod type money. That’s the market, so pay the man what he’s worth. Instead the Braves foolishly gave him away for nothing. And the worst part is that they gave away top prospect Jared Saltamacchia and others to get Teixeira only to give him away less than a year later. This kind of miss management is a perfect example as to why the Braves have only won one championship in twenty years. It’s a sad day when the Tampa Bay Rays are a better run organization than the once mighty Atlanta Braves.
