The Inexact Science

UFC 86. The Fall of Rampage

July 6, 2008 · 1 Comment

First and foremost, four out of the five fights on this card absolutely sucked. And I say this as a huge MMA and UFC fan. The UFC had better get it’s act together and either start putting together blockbuster cards, or learn how to co-promote with other organizations. Because frankly I stopped buying the weaker UFC’s cards a long time ago.

Now on to the main event. The bottom line is that Forrest Griffin is a better overall fighter than Rampage Jackson, but with that said, it fairly evident that Forrest is chinny, and he came close to getting knocked the fuck out more than a few times during the fight. And as for Rampage, he is somewhat of a one dimensional fighter with a lot of holes, yes we know he can stand and bang with anyone, yes we know he out wrestled Dan Henderson, but aside from that, Rampage is lacking. And tonight it showed.

I’m very curious to see what happens next in the New World Forrest Order. I fear for what Wanderlei Silva will do to him, I think Chuck will knock him out, I think Anderson Silva would terrorize him, I think Keith Jardine would bounce his head like a basketball again. Enjoy the belt Forrest, you won’t have it for long.

you’re nutz! Forrest got his BUTT handed to him on his face. What happened to the days when you had to wup a champion to taks his belt. Must be the UFC’s complicated point system that award bonus points for kicks in the knees…. CAUSE thats all they,ll be showin on Forrest Griffins highlight reel. Thzt and hix torn up mug that was badly beaten.
